1 Star I would give it no stars if I could.
We owned this camcorder for a few months and it quit working. This is the 2nd Hitachi we have bought that has quit for no reason. DO NOT BUY Hitachi ever!!

1 Star Great features terrible picture
I received this camcorder as a gift and the picture was very grainy I did read all the instructions and troubleshooting charts, called customer support and was unable to rectify the problem, the problem was there if I was recording or not it showed up on the display in the viewfinder and the television, customer support answered quickly gave me nine settings to adjust and try but no matter what it wasn’t going to clear up the grainy picture I spent three or four hours troubleshooting this problem so I returned it to Amazon for a refund

5 Stars So far, so good
I have used it for personal use and as a baseball coach recording players in training. Worked very well in creating a mini disk for players needing disks for college coaches during recruiting. The vendor was very prompt in delivering the goods in perfect condition. I will not hesitate in ordering from this vendor again.

1 Star Great potential, but horrible video
I got this camera because of the features and because of how well the DZHS300A version did in Consumer Reports. I thought, well, this is one nice camera. Well, when I got it, it must have ben broke. I used it for ten minutes inside, and there were all these grainy red pixels floating around the LCD. To make things worse, they also transferred to the video, so nothing you filmed could be watched. It was absolutely horrible. I returned it, and right now am waiting to see how helpful Amazon is at refunding my money. Let’s hope that they are more helpful than this camera.

5 Stars Great camcorder!!! Very fancy-looking too!!!!!
I’ve had this cam for about 2 weeks and love it. It’s beautiful-looking and has lots of nice features for a decent price. So far, I’ve found the picture quality to be great, not grainy like some others have said. My vids always came out very clean and clear. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this hybrid thus far.

For the price and for I am am using it for, this camcorder is great. No DVD’s, no tapes, just pick it up and start recording. What else can you ask for. I recommend this camcorder to anyone who is looking.

4 Stars LOVE IT!
Got this two days before trip to Hawaii. Was simple to get started. Only two things could make it perfect: a light for night recording and still pictures with more pixels. All in all, it was everything I expected it to be. Would recommend it to my friends.

4 Stars File Format
I just started messin around with the camera and found if you change the extension of the movie file to mpeg/mpg you can view the file without any software conversion. Just upload the movie file from the camcorder HD to your computer HD change the extension and it should work. Overall the camcorder is a nice camera.

3 Stars Reliable and good feature but brook in less than a year
Reliable and good feature but brook in less than a year; I bought the camera at the end of 2007; and the inside transistor got burn, according to the warranty Tech, but it’s fixable….. maybe I had a bad apple??

5 Stars ONE OF A KIND, digital video and burn right to a DVD? What else do you need?
Tired of mini dv recordings that I can’t copy to a dvd without taking to a specialty shop. NOW I don’t have to. I can record to hard drive and edit later to a dvd RIGHT ON THE CAMERA! What else do you need?
